The Process Computer System Services by Energy Performance Solutions focus on the implementation of secure plant process computer systems including: Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems that utilize commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Information Technology (IT).  The use of COTS technology within SCADA systems provides the benefits of low implementation cost and ease of interoperability, but introduces the potential for new security vulnerabilities.

To address these new vulnerabilities in power plant computer systems, we apply lessons learned from prior assessment activities, design and implementation experience in secure communication systems, and knowledge of power plant operations.  We offer a security policy framework that provides “best practices” from the process control and monitoring industry.  Included are typical vulnerabilities that are mitigated in our design and implementation.
